CloudFabrix, a scalable AIOps model

Joining for the first time The IT Press Tour, CloudFabrix is an ISV founded in 2015 dedicated to AIOps. Today the company has 40+ employees having raised $24.5 million in 2 rounds and the team plans to start a campaign for a new round soon to boost its expansion.

The founding team is composed of Raju Datla, Bhaskar Krishnamsetty, Satyan Raju and Raju Penmetsa, and they have founded Jahi Networks, Pari Networks and Cloupia, all sold to Cisco. So any different destiny for CloudFabrix, we'll see.

So what is the company all about, let's dig a bit. The company plays in AIOps market segment in other words applications analytics and intelligence leveraging AI for large scale environments to deliver insights for IT operations. The ultimate goal would be to make the enterprise fully autonomous as it becomes more and more complex and the industry itself has generated this complexity. Traditional approaches are too limited to reach this new level of IT operation and management. To achieve this, CloudFabrix considers 3 strategic axis: Data, AI and Automation.

But these new models are not so easy to achieve. The multi-cloud creates a real challenge, a large variety of tools, the integration of APIs and services requires expertise and last but not least, data have different format among these platforms. The second aspect resides in the dynamism of these environments and its capabilities to generate tons of data. Finally, data are there, you can collect them, hopefully all of them, and them you nee to correlate them and add some AI processing. This is where observability, security and automation become key requirements. It finally lands into a new operating model, named AIOps Operating Model, that goes beyond classic ITSM and adds AI, ML and automation.

As the need got identified by several vendors, many attempts have been launched on the market but it turns out that some holes still exist such the full stack service mapping and the data automation part. CloudFabrix has designed, built and developed a rich data-centric AIOps platform with the Robotic Data Automation Fabric aka RDAF at the heart.

This generic horizontal model with bots really simplify integration, it runs as Docker container orchestrated by Kubernetes on private or public clouds. These bots are specific workers to automate data ingestion, data processing and data routing.

CloudFabrix articulates 6 key differentiators with the RDAF platform, the full stack service map, composable dashboards, AI pipeline and ML train and retrain models in a low code/no code approach. The platform serves as a comprehensive and central solution to deliver fine granular information to optimize IT operations with predictive analytics. The key point here is the anticipation.

The product is already chosen by key partners like IBM, Cisco, HP and DXC and also adopted by Tata, L&T Infotech, Kaiser or Varutra. Again the robots approach has been a key trigger for partnership and adoption to build finally a real ecosystem. And references continue for CloudFabrix in various sectors such Telco, FinTech or Healthcare.

For the past few months, the company has accelerated on the observability and security data lake with Cloudian, MinIO, Hitachi or Amazon S3 to list a few.

We'll see how this story will evolve but clearly it appears that CloudFabrix is ready to shake up industry positions and we'll see if Cisco will acquire the friends' company.
