Dell invests in Exablox

Exablox (www.exablox.com), leader in Scalable NAS for SMB, just announced a new VC round - series C - at $16M for a total since inception $38.5M. Bu the key element is not only the value but the investor. In that case, Dell recognizes its absence of solution that must be addressed in the next few months. In the past, Dell oemed Caringo but changed to resell the product like a 3rd party partner a few years later. Exablox is a different animal with a clear value proposition perfectly aligned with Dell: fully indirect, a BYO Drive strategy that can fit in Dell model, simple, standard and economic philosophy and a scalable NAS based on object storage which is absent of Dell portfolio even with Fluid and Exanet based technology. In 1 year, Exablox sold 13x more appliances than the year before. Interesting, Doug Brockett was VP and GM at SonicWALL when the company got acquired by Dell. And now Dell invests in Exablox, I won't be surprised by a natural and obvious next step. Exablox product is a perfect fit for Dell.
