TrueNAS unveils the H30 model

TrueNAS, the leader in open source storage operating system, just announced its last hybrid model, the H30, combining HDDs and NVMe SSDs. The chassis coupled 2 systems to provide HA connected to all drive with dual ported SSDs but single controller is also possible. The company positions these systems for edge deployment and continues to expose block, file and object interfaces. The 2U system offers 12 slots so it means 720TB with 60TB NVMe SSD or 300TB with 25TB HDD and the capability to support Tri-mode drive that makes the mix possible within the same appliance. The maximum configuration can go up to 114 drives in 6U. The systems embeds 20 core and 256GB and 8GBs for the network.


The product is shipped with TrueNAS Enterprise 24.10.2 and is ready for the coming 25.04 release. As a key player, TrueNAS is a significant contributor and high promoter of OpenZFS. In terms of pricing, the solution starts under $10,000.

TrueNAS has been listed as a challenger company in the Coldago Research Map 2024 for Enterprise File Storage.
