Guillaume Imberti leads ProphetStor EMEA

ProphetStor Data Services (www.prophetstor.com), a recent player in Software-Defined Storage, will start soon EMEA operations led by Guillaume Imberti.

The company, based in Milpitas, was started in 2012 by former FalconStor executive Eric Chen and other executives are Sunny Siu, Chief Strategy Officer and President of APAC Operations, Walter F. Curti, Chief Technology Officer, Alan Chen, Vice President of Engineering and Jeremy Wei, Vice President of Business Development. Among them, Walter Curti, Alan Chen and Jeremy Wei have worked in the past also for FalconStor. So far, the company has received $10 million last February by Ai Holdings Corporation having signed at the same time a distribution agreement with them in Japan. The first appearance of the company was during OpenStack Summit in Hong-Kong in November 2013 where the company unveiled its storage federation solution Federator. Today, the company develops and promotes 4 products:
  • Federator to unify and aggregate various internal and external storage exposing block and file interface.
  • StellarFlash in two appliance flavors with All Flash and Hybrid block storage arrays.
  • DR Prophet to provide BC/DR with local and remote data copy based on snapshot, mirroring or replication technologies.
  • DiskProphet to offer an analytics view of the disk storage environment to prevent data loss for any kind of disk storage.
As said, the EMEA team will be led by Guillaume Imberti, coming from Cirrus Data Solutions. Guillaume has a strong track record in building EMEA operations having demonstrated his capabilities with famous companies in the past. Recently, he was VP/GM at Cirrus Data Solutions from January 2013 to Mai 2016, before he spent 10 years at FalconStor where he led Sales and then global European operations. During his tenure, he grew the team to 80 people and sustained a 57% CAGR. Previously, he was managing director channels for South Europe after the merger of Seagate NSMG by Veritas Software. Before he joined CA Technologies after the acquisition of Cheyenne Software. He just recruited 2 other leaders to boost Europe sub-regions: Guy Berlo, VP Sales Central EMEA, Thomas Barrett, VP Sales North EMEA, and the leader for South EMEA leader should arrive soon. Pretty good team ready to take-off very soon now. We'll meet them during the 23rd IT Press Tour in June in Milpitas and we'll learn more about their product and market strategy.
