iXsystems makes progress on TrueNAS SCALE

iXsystems, the famous company behind TrueNAS, continues its development around TrueNAS SCALE, its Scale-Out HCI offering that invite the vendor to the scale-out storage world.

This new unified solution based on Debian Linux exposes file, block and object, based on MinIO, interfaces.

In details, it means:

• TrueNAS Core and OpenZFS 2.0,
• KVM integration,
• Kubernetes to deploy single Docker or pods of containers,
• Scale-Out capability that extends classic TueNAS models, now able to glue independent nodes in a shared-nothing architecture,
• New intuitive UI coupled with a new TrueNAS CLI,
• Integration within TrueCommand aligned with 2.0

As the product is not GA yet, the company recommend developers and early adopters to test the platform but not going into production at this stage.
