GRAID Technology introduces a new approach to protect production data

GRAID Technology, an emerging player in advanced data protection, just unveiled its SupremeRAID product, a GPU-based RAID PCIe card dedicated to protect data stored on SSDs to offer new levels of resiliency. This offering supports NVMe SSDs but also NVMeoF-based entities and delivers impressive performance numbers.

These solutions confirm that the full flash data center is a reality at least for production data and the emergence of NVMe as the standard for storage media connectivity both local but also for networked devices.

The idea is to offload RAID processing from the CPU to a dedicated entity directly connected on the PCIe bus. Future developments includes encryption, compression, deduplication and thin provisioning.

The SupremeRAID PCIe Gen 3 delivers 6M IOPS 4k random IO and 250GB/s throughput or 100GB/s for the Gen 4 card.

At the same time, the company signed 2 key partnerships with Kioxia and Gigabyte for its PCIe Gen 4 card. As such GRAID is recognized as a fundamental technology vendor for high demanding workloads in current and future datacenters.
